[Niger Capital International Airport resumes normal operations] August 30th, on the afternoon of August 29th local time, the National Civil Aviation Administration of Niger issued a notice stating that aviation operations at Diori Hamani International Airport in the capital Niamey have fully returned to normal. In the early morning of the 29th local time, intensive gunshots and explosions were heard in many places in Niamey, including around Diori Hamani International Airport and near the presidential palace. Niger's Ministry of National Defense issued a communique late on the 29th stating that some soldiers at the 101 military base in the capital Niamey attempted to launch a mutiny that day, and that the situation was currently under control.
