This round of inspections will be fully launched in May 2026, covering seven provinces (regions): Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Tibet, Xinjiang and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. The inspection found some outstanding problems: some provinces and regions still have problems such as blindly launching "high energy consumption and high emission" projects, illegal disposal of construction waste, and illegal hunting and trafficking of wild birds. There are outstanding problems in ecological protection and restoration. Some sensitive areas such as woodlands, wetlands, rivers, and nature reserves have been invaded and destroyed. The construction of the "Three North" protective forests in some places is not strict and unreliable, and the protection of mangroves is still insufficient. There are still shortcomings in the prevention and control of pollution. There are gaps in the prevention and control of water pollution. Domestic sewage collection and treatment are not in place in some places. There are still weak links in the prevention and control of air pollution. The rural living environment is not well rectified, breeding pollution is a prominent problem, and the problem of "villages surrounded by garbage" still occurs. In the follow-up work, the inspection team will continue to strengthen dispatching and supervision, keep a close eye on the problems discovered, and promote the supervised objects to make effective rectifications and achieve practical results.
