[Samsung’s foundry business is accelerating its shift to AI and HPC: the target is to increase the number of customers by about four times in 2029] On September 29, Samsung Electronics executives said that by 2029, the number of its foundry business customers is expected to increase by about four times compared with 2017. Samsung said that its foundry business plans to expand into the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) in the future. Samsung plans to start mass production of the third-generation 2nm process in 2028, and launch mass production of the 1.4nm process in 2029.
