Among the external financial assets of the banking industry, broken down by instrument, deposit and loan assets were US$1,169.4 billion, bond assets were US$667.6 billion, and other assets such as equity were US$307.3 billion, accounting for 55%, 31%, and 14% of the banking industry's external financial assets respectively. In terms of currencies, RMB assets were US$707.7 billion, US dollar assets were US$983.3 billion, and assets in other currencies were US$453.3 billion, accounting for 33%, 46% and 21% respectively. In terms of investment sectors, US$1.0841 billion was invested in the overseas banking sector, accounting for 51%; US$1.0602 billion was invested in the overseas non-bank sector, accounting for 49%. Among the banking industry’s external liabilities, broken down by instrument, deposit and loan liabilities were US$747.2 billion, bond liabilities were US$239 billion, and other liabilities such as equity were US$486.5 billion, accounting for 51%, 16%, and 33% of the banking industry’s external liabilities respectively. In terms of currencies, RMB liabilities were US$783.1 billion, US dollar liabilities were US$278.4 billion, and liabilities in other currencies were US$411.1 billion, accounting for 53%, 19% and 28% respectively. In terms of source sectors, US$521.6 billion came from the overseas banking sector, accounting for 35%; US$951 billion came from the overseas non-bank sector, accounting for 65%.
