[National Development and Reform Commission: The entire chain promotes decisive breakthroughs in key core technologies of integrated circuits and promotes high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry] August 28th, the National Development and Reform Commission stated today that judging from this year’s situation, the development of my country’s integrated circuit industry shows four outstanding characteristics. First, key core technologies continue to make breakthroughs. High-end chip design and manufacturing capabilities continue to improve, special processes such as power semiconductors and compound semiconductors are accelerating to form differentiated competitive advantages, and breakthroughs in advanced packaging, memory and other fields are accelerating. Second, the competitiveness of enterprises continues to increase. The performance of key enterprises in all links of the industrial chain is generally good. As of August 27, the revenue of listed companies that have disclosed financial reports in the first half of the year has increased by 12.8% year-on-year, and their net profits have increased by 99% year-on-year. Relevant enterprises have actively deployed new technology research and development, and their R&D investment has increased by 13.4% year-on-year. Investment and production expansion across the industry are accelerating simultaneously. In the first seven months of this year, investment in the integrated circuit manufacturing industry increased by 11.5% year-on-year, indicating sufficient development potential. Third, capacity utilization remains high. In the first half of the year, the production capacity utilization rate of major domestic wafer foundry companies remained above 90%. Production capacity of various processes was gradually increased to meet the manufacturing needs of various types of chips such as automotive grade and industrial grade, showing a booming trend in both production and sales. Fourth, the safety level of the industrial chain has been significantly improved. The categories of domestic integrated circuit equipment and materials are constantly enriched, and the scale of application is growing steadily, leaping from "single point breakthrough" to "full chain collaboration". The next step will be to continue to focus on the deployment requirements of the "Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan", give full play to the advantages of the new national system, promote decisive breakthroughs in key core technologies of integrated circuits throughout the chain, promote the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry, and make greater contributions to promoting the continued development of China's economy in a new and better direction.
