[Israeli Army Says It Will Expand to Respond to Multi-Line Threats] October 5th, the Israeli military issued a notice on October 4th stating that Israeli Chief of Staff Zamir hosted a meeting of senior commanders that day and stated at the meeting that the Israeli army is learning from the lessons of the attack on October 7, 2023. The future military strategy will be based on "preventing sudden wars" and will comprehensively promote military expansion. The notice stated that Zamir said that one of the "core lessons" of the Israeli army is the need to "expand the security perimeter." He made it clear that because Israel lacks strategic depth and faces "multi-front threats," it must expand its military to cope with expanding military tasks. Zamir revealed that the Israeli army is constructing a new strategy, and its core guiding principle is to "be ready to respond to unexpected wars at any time and nip security threats in the bud."
