[Yemen says Houthi armed forces attacked Aden Airport and forced a passenger plane to divert] October 7th, the Ministry of Transport of the Yemeni government said on the 7th that the Houthi armed forces used ballistic missiles and drones to attack Aden International Airport in the early morning of that day, causing a passenger plane to be forced to divert to Saudi Arabia. The airport immediately evacuated people. There are currently no reports of casualties. Aden is currently the temporary capital of the Yemeni government. Aden International Airport is one of the few international air ports still operating in Yemen. The Ministry of Transportation of the Yemeni government issued a statement on social media saying that two ballistic missiles and multiple drones loaded with explosives attacked the airport runway and terminal building. A Yemeni Airlines flight from Cairo, the capital of Egypt, was hit by a missile near the runway as it was landing, and was subsequently diverted to the Saudi city of Jeddah. Aden residents reported hearing multiple violent explosions in the early hours of the day. As of now, the Houthis have not responded to this. (CCTV News)
