[Morgan Stanley recommends shorting the euro/swiss franc due to rising euro risks] On October 8, Morgan Stanley strategists again recommended shorting the euro/swiss franc, betting that rising risk aversion and rising euro zone asset risk premiums will drag down the euro. David Adams, Koichi Sugisaki, Andrew Watrous and Alexander Scholefield wrote in a note on Wednesday that shorting EUR/CHF would provide a hedge against "further increases in fiscal and political risk premiums" and the potential for bond market volatility to prompt market expectations for ECB policy to be repriced in a more dovish direction. "Despite widespread concerns about wider spreads, the increase in euro risk premiums has not actually been that large," the strategists said. SNB concerns about a stronger Swiss franc pose a risk to shorting EUR/CHF and could push the pair higher, with strategists recommending shorting EUR/CHF, they wrote.
