[Gezhouba Shipping Capacity Expansion Project Enters Main Construction Stage] October 10th: The Three Gorges Water Transport New Channel Project is the first major landmark project started in China during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, including the Three Gorges Hub New Channel and Gezhouba Shipping Capacity Expansion. Today, Gezhouba's shipping capacity expansion has reached a critical milestone, with construction of the upstream and downstream cofferdams officially starting. This marks that Gezhouba's shipping capacity expansion has entered the main construction stage. The upstream and downstream cofferdams are the first hurdle in Gezhouba's shipping capacity expansion construction and are "temporary retaining walls" built in the river. Among them, the total length of the upstream cofferdam is 835.94 meters, and the total length of the downstream cofferdam is 960.85 meters. (CCTV News)
