[Haze has caused a surge in respiratory infections and conjunctivitis cases in Malaysia] On October 10, the Malaysian Ministry of Health stated that through the supervision of haze-related diseases in 78 designated medical institutions across the country, it was found that respiratory infection cases increased by 10.43%; conjunctivitis cases increased by 26.47%. As of the 40th epidemiological week, the number of respiratory infection cases in Malaysia is 3,875, compared with 3,509 cases in the previous epidemiological week. During the same period, the number of conjunctivitis cases increased from 102 to 129.
