[Total U.S. game hardware sales fell 15% year-on-year in August, hitting a 13-year low.] On October 10, data recently released by market monitoring agency Circana showed that total U.S. game hardware sales fell 15% year-on-year to only 559,000 units in August, setting a new August sales low since 2013. Hardware expenditures fell slightly by 3% year-on-year to $302 million. Cumulative hardware spending in 2026 through August was US$2.5 billion, down 11% year-on-year.
