[Japan’s rice harvest is expected to remain at a high level and prices may continue to fall] October 14th, Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced on October 13th that as of September 25th, the 2026 edible rice harvest for producers is expected to be 7.105 million tons. Compared with the previous year, there was a decrease of 76,000 tons, and it is expected to remain at basically the same high level. Based on the current inventory situation, Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Water said that "it is unlikely that supply will exceed demand." The downward trend in Japanese rice prices may continue.
