[Apple AI adopts dual partners in China: Alibaba provides model capabilities and Baidu is responsible for Siri and visual intelligence] On October 15, according to media reports, Apple plans to officially launch Apple Intelligence through the iOS 27.3 system update in December this year. The first batch of launches will be the AI functions that were released in the United States two years ago. Apple AI adopts a dual-partner model in the country. Alibaba will integrate AI capabilities into Apple smart phones to provide Chinese users of iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS with intelligent experiences such as text and image understanding and content generation. The scope of the license obtained on September 29 includes Alibaba’s Tongyi Wanxiang and Qwen. According to people familiar with the matter, Apple will embed Baidu’s software services in its Siri voice assistant and visual intelligence functions. A third-party developer’s teardown of the iOS 27 Beta 2 firmware verified this information. The disassembly shows that a new module named "Baidu Visual Search" has been added to the system, pointing to the access of visual search capabilities.
