[U.S. Central Command says about 50,000 U.S. troops are deployed in the Middle East] August 29th, U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper said on August 28 that there are currently about 50,000 U.S. troops deployed in the Middle East, and many of them are enforcing a naval blockade against Iran. He also said that since the blockade was restored in mid-July, more than 20 warships have maintained the blockade. (CCTV International News)
