[United Nations Secretary-General: Progress in the implementation of global biodiversity goals is “far from adequate”] October 16th, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity will be held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, from October 19th to 30th. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a press conference in Yerevan on the 15th and released the first global action progress report on the implementation of the 2022 Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework - the "Status of Action on Biodiversity" report. The report mainly evaluates the implementation progress of the 2030 global biodiversity goal and will serve as the core basis for review by the conference. Guterres said that the report shows that nearly 90% of Parties have set national biodiversity targets, but less than half of them are progressing as planned.
