[Australian researchers draw Mars soil classification map] On October 19th, researchers from the University of Sydney in Australia recently announced the establishment of a comprehensive Mars soil classification system and drawn a global distribution map, which provides a new framework for studying soil characteristics in different areas of Mars and exploring plant planting conditions. The researchers said that in the next step, planting experiments can be carried out on Earth using simulated Martian soil to compare plant growth under different soil conditions. Data and samples collected by future Mars rovers will also help validate relevant models.
