[The rising price trend of mature process wafer foundry continues, UMC, World Advanced Micro Devices, and Power Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. continue to see a boom in both price and volume] "Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily" reported on the 20th that the industry pointed out that the AI dividend not only boosted the popularity of orders for TSMC's advanced process, but also prompted the rising trend of mature process wafer foundry prices to continue. UMC, World Advanced Micro Devices, and Power Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. continued to see a boom in both price and volume. UMC has a positive outlook on the market and is optimistic that demand for 22nm and 28nm will continue to recover. In the third quarter, wafer shipments increased by single-digit percentages, capacity utilization rose to more than 90%, average selling prices remained stable, and gross profit margins were approximately 35%. World Advanced said that benefiting from the increasing demand for AI power management, the capacity utilization rate reached more than 90% in the third quarter, and order visibility was about four months. There is still room for improvement in the fourth quarter. As for Power Semiconductor, it has raised DRAM wafer prices by approximately 45% in July this year, and its 8-inch and 12-inch logic foundry wafer prices have simultaneously increased by 10% to 15%. The benefits of price adjustments will continue to be reflected in the second half of the year. (Taiwan Economic Daily)
