[Iran shot down another US military MQ9 drone] October 20th, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement today (October 20) stating that it intercepted and destroyed a US military MQ-9 “Reaper” drone over the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said this was the 54th US military MQ-9 drone shot down by Iran. The MQ-9 is an integrated reconnaissance and attack drone that usually flies at an altitude of more than 12,000 meters. It can not only perform reconnaissance and surveillance missions, but also carry missiles to strike ground targets. Each aircraft costs up to 30 million to 35 million US dollars.
