[Nigeria confirms first confirmed case of Ebola] On October 21, the Nigerian federal government confirmed that a confirmed case of Ebola virus was found in the Federal Capital District, Abuja, and the country has fully launched an emergency public health response mechanism. It is understood that the confirmed case is a female patient. Laboratory test results officially confirmed that he was infected with Ebola virus on October 20. Preliminary epidemiological investigation showed that the patient recently entered Nigeria from Uganda on an international flight. The local health department has currently traced and identified at least 44 close contacts, and is closely monitoring their health conditions and conducting isolation screenings.
