["2026 APEC Finance Ministers Joint Statement": Strong digital infrastructure is the pillar of economic resilience and financial stability] October 21st, the 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers' Meeting will be held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China from October 20 to 21, 2026. The meeting reviewed and approved the "2026 APEC Finance Ministers Joint Statement" and the "Asia-Pacific Digital Infrastructure Financing Policy Statement", pointing out the direction for Asia-Pacific economies to deepen financial cooperation. The "2026 APEC Finance Ministers Joint Statement" pointed out that strong digital infrastructure is the pillar of economic resilience and financial stability. However, some economies still have large financing gaps, a problem exacerbated by policy and regulatory constraints and limited access to finance. APEC economies are therefore encouraged to exchange views, share good practices, and identify and close these gaps by developing an ecosystem-wide approach that mobilizes resources from the public sector, private sector, and multilateral development banks.
