In fiscal year 2026 (October 2025 to September 2026), the total revenue of the canal reached US$6.6 billion, an increase of 16.6% over the previous fiscal year. During the fiscal year, there were 13,951 ship transactions in the Panama Canal, an increase of 4.1% compared with fiscal year 2025; this increase was mainly due to the needs of the energy industry and container transportation.
