[Ministry of Water Resources: There is still a possibility of glacier collapse around the Cuojian River impact crater in Nepal] On September 1, the Ministry of Water Resources continued to organize consultations to continuously study and determine the entire risk chain of the debris flow disaster in Gyirong, Tibet. Comparative analysis of recent remote sensing images shows that the water surface areas of the 14 glacial lakes previously identified in the Gyirong Zangbo Basin have not changed significantly and are in a relatively stable state overall. According to drone images at 8 o'clock today, the accumulated water in the impact crater of Nepal's Cuojian River has been basically drained, and the downstream river is flowing normally. Glaciers around the Cuojian River impact crater in Nepal may still collapse, posing major risks. (CCTV News)
