[Report from the Academy of Information and Communications Technology: Large model prices have rebounded significantly, word price has doubled compared with the second half of last year, and average daily consumption has increased three times] October 24th, the "Large Model Word Service Performance Monitoring Report (2026)" recently released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows that word services are showing a trend of rising volume and price. Among them, domestic word prices have doubled compared with the second half of last year, but the volume has increased by 3 times. In June 2026, the average daily consumption of domestic words was approximately 500 trillion, which was nearly four times that in December 2025. More and more model-as-a-service (MaaS) platform vendors are providing large model token services through public cloud APIs. However, users lack an intuitive basis for judging the performance of token services and face difficulty in selecting models. This is the background for the development of this report. After the price war in the past two years, the price of domestic and foreign model services has increased significantly in 2026: normalized (note: converting the different pricing methods of each company into the same unified caliber so that prices can be compared horizontally) the average price has increased from 6.8 yuan in the second half of 2025 to 13.46 yuan this year, an increase of nearly double; however, foreign prices are still significantly higher than domestic ones, and the average normalized price of typical models released since 2026 is about 117.8 yuan.
