[Track laying of the entire Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway is completed today] October 24th, today, the Chongqing-Kunming High-speed Railway will complete the track laying operations of the entire line and enter the static acceptance and joint debugging and testing stages. The Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province and Yunnan Province, and connects to Kunming South Railway Station. The total length is about 700 kilometers. It is an important part of the Beijing-Kunming corridor of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. It is expected to be ready for operation in 2027. By then, the driving time from Kunming to Chongqing will be reduced to about two and a half hours, and from Kunming to Chengdu to less than three hours. It will form a fast passenger transportation channel between the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle and the central Yunnan urban agglomeration, driving economic and social development along the route.
