[International Civil Aviation Organization has lifted the airspace restrictions imposed on Libya for more than 10 years] October 27th, Mohamed Shahhubi, Minister of Transport of the Libyan Government of National Unity, said on the 26th that the International Civil Aviation Organization has withdrawn aviation safety warnings and restrictions on Libyan airspace. Shahhubi said in a statement that this decision is the result of the Libyan National Unity Government's years of efforts to develop the aviation industry, strengthen aviation safety and improve security standards. He said the government will launch a promotion plan for international airlines to encourage them to resume direct flights to Libya and make more use of Libyan airspace as an air corridor connecting Europe and Africa. Due to the deterioration of the security situation after the armed conflict in Libya in 2011, the International Civil Aviation Organization issued relevant warnings on the security situation of its airspace in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
