[CFTC announces major adjustments: Increase the frequency of release of position reports to twice a week] On October 28, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced on Tuesday that it plans to increase the frequency of release of the "Positions of Traders Report" (COT report) from once a week to twice a week by the end of 2026. The COT report is currently released every Friday afternoon New York time. The report outlines trading positions in commodities such as energy and precious metals, as well as derivatives such as foreign exchange, stock indexes and interest rates.
