[Iran’s heavy missile strikes U.S. military camp in Jordan] September 2nd, in the early morning of today (September 2) local time, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement stating that it launched a heavy ballistic missile at the U.S. Marine Corps camp on the Gulf of Aqaba coast of Jordan, “destroying several important facilities and enemy attack helicopters, causing a large number of U.S. military casualties.” The statement stated that Iran's revenge actions continue. Earlier, air defense alerts were activated in Jordan's Mafraq and Aqaba provinces. The U.S. military and Jordan have yet to respond to the statement from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The Revolutionary Guards had previously announced the start of a counterattack against the invaders and said that in its first operation, it had used a new air defense system to shoot down the US military MQ-9 "Reaper" drone.
