[The "Action Plan for the Construction of the Carbon Footprint Standard System for Key Products (2026-2028)" was issued] On October 30, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Construction of the Carbon Footprint Standard System for Key Products (2026-2028)". The "Action Plan" includes a total of 20 items in three parts: overall requirements, key construction tasks, and implementation safeguard measures. In accordance with the principles of urgent needs first, overall planning and promotion, and industry collaboration, it focuses on five key directions such as energy, raw materials, consumer goods, machinery and equipment, and transportation tools. It deploys more than 100 national standards for product carbon footprints and promotes the simultaneous development of some national standards and international standards. It achieves basic coverage of key basic energy, raw materials, and intermediate product carbon footprint national standards that have obvious driving effects in the industrial chain and supply chain, and supports the green and low-carbon transformation of key products through the construction of a standard system. The "Action Plan" will further improve the national standard system for product carbon footprints, strengthen the overall coordination of carbon footprint standards for key products, and help respond to changes in international economic and trade rules.
