[State Power Investment Corporation, Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Project Phase III Project Starts Construction] On October 31, State Power Investment Corporation announced on October 31 that the company’s key project in the 15th Five-Year Plan, the SPIC Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Unit 5 nuclear island, has begun pouring the first container of concrete, marking the start of the construction phase III project of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Project. The Haiyang Nuclear Power Project is located in Haiyang City, Shandong Province. It is one of the first third-generation nuclear power projects in the world. The site is planned to build six million-kilowatt nuclear power units in three phases. Units 5 and 6 of the third phase project started this time adopt domestic third-generation advanced passive pressurized water reactor nuclear power technology. They are the first nuclear power projects started in Shandong Province during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
