[Indian Oil Corporation: India's gasoline demand growth is expected to peak in 2035] On October 28, India's largest oil refiner stated that as the rising use of electric two-wheelers and gas four-wheelers begins to curb consumption, India's gasoline demand growth may peak in 2035. Arvinder Singh Sahney, chairman of Indian Oil Corporation, told reporters at an industry event in Goa that increasing the blending ratio of ethanol into gasoline will also reduce consumption of the oil. Gasoline "is under pressure from all sides," he said. Sahney said that demand for diesel and aviation kerosene, the most consumed refined oil products in India, is likely to continue to grow due to the lack of substitute products. Consumption of other oil products such as petroleum coke and fuel oil is also expected to increase. He also said that Indian Oil Corporation is studying related technologies, including small modular reactors, in preparation for its planned entry into the nuclear energy field.
