[Draft amendment to the Renewable Energy Law submitted for deliberation] On November 2, the draft amendment to the Renewable Energy Law was submitted for initial deliberation at the 25th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress. Developing renewable energy is an important task to improve the energy structure, ensure energy security, build an energy power and promote the construction of ecological civilization. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has made historic achievements in the development of renewable energy, achieved historic changes, and built the world's largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system. The revised draft has ten chapters and 76 articles. The main revisions include: clearly strengthening the leadership of the party, improving the legislative purpose and relevant requirements, improving resource surveys and development plans, strengthening the management of renewable energy development and construction, strengthening the management of renewable energy production and transmission, improving market transactions and price mechanisms, strengthening consumption responsibilities and consumption promotion, improving scientific and technological innovation and industrial development, strengthening guarantees and supervision, and improving legal responsibilities.
