[Chief U.S. stock strategist of Morgan Stanley: Whoever wins the midterm elections should buy stocks at dips] On November 2, Mike Wilson of Morgan Stanley believed that the stock market may go through several clearing events that will prompt the market to complete the correction. It may fall further in the short term, but it will also create a good opportunity to re-enter the market. The chief U.S. stock strategist at Morgan Stanley noted that several factors could push the S&P 500 down about 9% from its latest all-time high to around 7,100, including midterm elections, pressure from AI spending, and liquidity constraints. Even though the war with Iran remains full of uncertainty and has dragged down U.S. stocks at times this year, Wilson remains optimistic about the market outlook. He believes the S&P 500 will head toward 8,000 after these events bring to an end what he says has been a months-long correction that has been under the market's surface.
