[To prevent the risk of crushing and pinching, the national standard for household children’s learning tables and chairs is released] September 2nd, today we learned that the State Administration for Market Regulation has recently approved the release of the national standard for “household children’s learning tables and chairs” to establish a special safety and performance indicator system for household children’s learning tables and chairs. The standard is clearly applicable to home learning desks and chairs for children aged 3 to 14 years old who read, write, and draw. It fully takes into account the innovative designs of current market products in terms of lifting, angle adjustment, and electrification functions. It systematically stipulates product technical requirements and corresponding test methods, and provides technical support for product manufacturing, quality testing, and consumer purchasing. The standard establishes a safety protection mechanism for the electric lift to return when it encounters obstruction. When the one-button lifting tabletop is blocked by an external force, the squeezing force must be reduced to the safety threshold within 5 seconds, effectively preventing children from being squeezed or pinched. After releasing the operating button, the tabletop displacement shall not exceed 10 mm, ensuring that the lifting operation responds instantly, is controllable, and can be stopped. At the same time, the standard clearly prohibits the use of voice control and remote control to achieve lifting adjustment, eliminating mechanical safety risks caused by children's misoperation from the source of product design.
