[Iraq’s crude oil exports via Turkey increase to an average of 500,000 barrels per day] November 2, sources from Iraq’s state-owned North Oil Company revealed on November 1 that Iraq’s crude oil exports through Turkey’s Ceyhan Port reached an average of 500,000 barrels per day for the first time. Iraq's "Shafaq News" website quoted sources as saying that the new crude oil supply from the Basra oil field has promoted an increase in exports. The crude oil was transported by tanker trucks to Hurmala in northern Iraq, and then transported via pipeline to Ceyhan Port in Türkiye. Currently, 40% of the Iraqi crude oil exported through the port comes from the Basra oil field, 35% comes from the Kurdish region, and the remaining 25% comes from Kirkuk. A representative of the Iraqi Oil Ministry said that in August this year, Iraq exported an average of 150,000 to 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day through Ceyhan Port. (Xinhua News Agency)
