[Alphabet is expected to raise 6 billion euros through the issuance of Eurobonds and pay a higher premium to attract buyers] November 3rd, Alphabet is expected to raise 6 billion euros (US$6.7 billion) through the second issuance of Eurobonds this year. Concerns about the pace of spending on artificial intelligence triggered a sell-off in credit markets, making the bond offering significantly higher than the one in May. The Google parent company is close to finalizing a bond issuance in seven tranches with maturities ranging from two to 19 years, according to a person familiar with the matter who requested anonymity. People familiar with the matter said that investors subscribed for more than 17.1 billion euros, with demand mainly concentrated in the longest term tranche. The spreads for each tranche of bonds issued by Alphabet are expected to be higher than the levels when they were issued in May. The pricing also reflects a decline in the price of Alphabet's existing euro bonds, which have seen spreads widen by up to 0.6 percentage points since they began trading.
