[Focus on people's livelihood concerns, national standards for sustainable development of cities and communities released] November 4th, reporters learned today that the State Administration for Market Regulation approved the release of the national standard "Indicators for Sustainable Development of Cities and Communities, Urban Services and Quality of Life". This standard establishes a quantifiable, comparable, and traceable "weights and measures" for measuring urban service levels and residents' quality of life. The standard sets a total of 122 indicators, divided into three categories: core indicators, auxiliary indicators and summary indicators, covering 19 fields such as economy, education, energy, environment and climate change, health, housing, transportation, and safety. The content of the standard highlights the following three aspects. The first is to build an indicator framework focusing on people's livelihood concerns. Focusing on the practical needs of medical care, education, housing, travel, environment, and urban safety that are of great concern to the public, key indicators such as average life expectancy, primary school student-to-teacher ratio, housing price-to-income ratio, average commuting time, annual average concentration of PM2.5, and emergency alarm response time are set to intuitively reflect the actual level of urban public service supply and human settlement quality. The second is to unify the statistical calculation rules for indicators. Unify the statistical caliber and calculation methods of all indicators to reduce the evaluation bias of different cities, ensure that the evaluation results between cities are horizontally comparable, and the data of the same city in different periods can be traced vertically. The third is to achieve system docking and compatibility. Establish a mapping relationship between indicators, urban sustainable development management systems and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, take into account the actual domestic urban governance and compatibility of international evaluation systems, and expand standard application scenarios.
