Tesla confirmed to NHTSA that the relevant vehicles comply with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and plans to gradually expand the deployment scope and number of Cybercab vehicles. NHTSA stated that it will investigate the process and technical data used by Tesla to certify Cybercab, and focus on examining whether Tesla completed certification based on the judgment that part of the FMVSS is "not applicable to Cybercab".
