[The Israeli army said it launched an air strike in southern Lebanon] On September 6, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement saying that the Israeli army launched an air strike in southern Lebanon that day. An Israeli military statement said the air strikes were in response to Hezbollah's actions. Earlier in the day, Hezbollah militants launched two drones at Israeli soldiers who were performing missions in the "safe zone" in southern Lebanon. Israeli forces opened fire and shot down one of the aircraft; no Israeli personnel were injured in the incident. So far, there has been no response from Lebanese Hezbollah.
