[Clear procedures for determining major accident hazards in nursing homes, two mandatory national standards for nursing homes released] On September 6, the State Administration for Market Regulation recently released the mandatory national standard "Guidelines for Determining Major Accident Hazards in Nursing Homes". This standard clarifies the procedures for determining major accident hazards in nursing homes based on the safety management experience of nursing homes across the country. This set of rules is both scientific and practical, and can help front-line managers quickly "check in" and accurately identify risks. The "Criteria for Determining Major Accident Hazards in Nursing Homes" mainly includes seven parts: scope, normative reference documents, terms and definitions, determination procedures, determination rules, direct determination elements, and comprehensive determination elements. The recently released "Basic Specifications for Elderly Care Institutions" mandatory national standard will be implemented on August 1, 2027. This standard draws a bottom line on the safety and service quality that nursing homes should have throughout the entire cycle from establishment, operation to exit. The standard systematically puts forward 90 specific requirements in seven aspects, including site selection and construction, facilities and equipment, admission and discharge management, basic services, safety management, operation management, evaluation and improvement of nursing homes.
