[HSBC raises Brent oil price forecast for this year and next] On September 8, HSBC significantly raised its Brent crude oil price forecast for this year and next: the average price forecast in 2026 was raised to US$90 per barrel from the previous US$80 per barrel, with the fourth quarter expected to reach US$95; the average price forecast in 2027 was raised from US$65 per barrel to US$85; the long-term assumption was raised to US$75 per barrel from 2028. HSBC said its base case assumes a partial, gradual recovery in crude oil flows in the Strait of Hormuz, while new Gulf pipelines will boost export capacity.
