The current global energy pattern is undergoing profound adjustments. Energy security, economic development and green transformation are facing multiple challenges. All economies are seeking feasible paths that balance security and development. As the center of global energy production and consumption, Asia-Pacific strengthens policy communication and deepens practical cooperation, which is of great significance to promoting sustainable development of regional energy. As the host of APEC this year, China closely adheres to the energy theme of "building an inclusive, innovative and collaborative Asia-Pacific Energy Community" and focuses on the three priority directions of "universal high-quality energy services", "artificial intelligence + energy" and "Asia-Pacific energy collaborative governance". It has held a series of activities such as working group meetings, special seminars, and capacity building training courses in Nanchang, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Dalian and other places to promote mutual learning and in-depth exchanges among all parties, laying a solid foundation for deepening pragmatic cooperation at this meeting. Wang Jianbo emphasized that the vitality of APEC cooperation lies in the joint participation of all economies. China has always adhered to the concept of openness and inclusiveness and held a series of APEC "China Year" events in the energy field. This is not a one-way display of its own practices, but a multilateral dialogue platform to promote various economies to fully share practical experience, learn from each other, and condense the wisdom of all parties into cooperation results. It is hoped that in the spirit of seeking common ground while reserving differences, all economies can exchange views candidly, build policy consensus, base themselves on the energy field, actively respond to the new issues raised by the adjustment of the global energy pattern and technological changes on the development of the Asia-Pacific, and contribute more energy power to enhance the well-being of all people in the Asia-Pacific region. This meeting is an important institutional meeting before the 16th meeting. At the meeting, each economy reported on their respective energy policies and latest progress, listened to work reports from the research centers, expert groups and task groups under the working group, and reviewed the draft outcome document of the APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting. About 200 representatives from the APEC Secretariat, member economies, research centers, expert groups and task groups under the Energy Working Group, as well as observers from relevant international organizations attended the meeting.
