[Fire accident on ship offshore Palawan Province, Philippines has killed 5 people] September 10th, according to the Philippine Coast Guard, on September 9, a ship caught fire in the waters near Palawan Province, Philippines. As of about 23:10 that day, the accident had caused 5 deaths and 42 people had been rescued. Search and rescue operations are still ongoing. The Philippine Coast Guard previously announced that it received an accident report at 18:45 on the 9th that a passenger ship caught fire in waters about 1.2 nautical miles away from Coron Town, Palawan Province.
