[The twisting direction of a graphene nanoribbon can be switched on demand for the first time] September 10th, can a graphene nanoribbon change its twisting direction like twisting a towel? Researchers from Japan's Nagoya University gave a positive answer. According to a report in the latest issue of Nature Communications, researchers at the school achieved for the first time the on-demand switching of the twist direction of graphene nanoribbons. This achievement is expected to provide new materials for the development of tunable optical switches, chemical sensors and spintronic devices.
