["Mutation fingerprints" can identify the risk of prostate cancer metastasis] September 15th, a study published in the latest issue of "Nature" mapped 8 "mutation fingerprints" related to prostate cancer to explain why some people suffer from fatal subtypes and others live with the tumor for a long time. A joint research team from Denmark, Germany, Canada and Spain analyzed the complete DNA of tumor samples from nearly a thousand patients in seven countries and found that these eight mutation signatures cover 85% of prostate cancer cases, four of which are associated with an increased risk of tumor spread, and are particularly evident in tumors driven by testosterone. This finding provides new directions for identifying high-risk patients.
