In terms of pilot testing and manufacturing platforms, according to the public introduction by the person in charge of relevant projects of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai has formed a relatively complete silicon photonic chip production line foundation covering 8-inch and 12-inch mass production, pilot testing, R&D and special processes. Zhangjiang Hi-Tech is simultaneously promoting the construction of the first and second phases of silicon photonic core sources: the first phase is aimed at start-ups and R&D teams, with a public service platform for optoelectronic chip testing and a thousand-level shared clean room, close to the 12-inch silicon photonics R&D pilot platform; the second phase is aimed at growing small and medium-sized enterprises, and is surrounded by downstream application scenarios such as intelligent computing, intelligent terminals, and commercial aerospace.
