[The U.S. military said it intercepted and sunk a drug-related ship in the Eastern Pacific] September 16th, the U.S. Southern Command stated on September 15th local time that under its command, the "Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere" successfully intercepted a "sea gas station" ship in the Eastern Pacific that provided support for "illegal drug trafficking at sea." U.S. Southern Command said, "Intelligence confirmed that the ship was connected to a violent drug trafficking terrorist organization, and the individuals removed from the ship will be turned over to Ecuadorian authorities." After completing the inventory of the ship and allowing the crew to disembark, the U.S. military sank the ship. (CCTV News)
