The statement stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan summoned the Charge d'Affaires of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on the 16th to lodge a strong protest against the "highly provocative and unacceptable actions" taken by an Indian Navy ship in Pakistan's exclusive economic zone on September 15, 2026. Pakistan said that at that time, the Pakistan Navy was holding a biennial exercise code-named "Sea Spark-26", and the Indian Navy ship performed "offensive maneuvers" in the waters very close to the Pakistani Navy ship, resulting in a collision between the two ships. Pakistan believes that this incident seriously violated international law and the "Agreement on Advance Notification of Military Exercises, Exercises and Troop Movements" signed by India and Pakistan in 1991, and may aggravate regional tensions.
