[The U.S. Department of the Treasury releases the International Capital Flows Report for July] On September 17, the U.S. Department of the Treasury released the July International Capital Flows Report (TIC) on September 16, local time. The report showed that net inflows from all overseas U.S. long-term and short-term securities and bank flows totaled $83.7 billion in July. Among them, the net inflow of overseas private capital was US$73.5 billion, and the net inflow of overseas official capital was US$10.2 billion. In July, foreign investors' holdings of U.S. long-term securities increased by $40.6 billion, and U.S. investors' holdings of foreign long-term securities increased by $68.5 billion. In July, foreign investor holdings of U.S. Treasury securities increased by $38.8 billion, and foreign holdings of all U.S. dollar-denominated U.S. short-term securities and other managed debt securities increased by $65 billion. U.S. banks' net dollar liabilities to foreign investors increased by $46.6 billion in July.
