[Hainan’s first “Hualong One” nuclear power unit will be put into commercial operation] On September 17, Hainan Free Trade Port’s first “Hualong One” nuclear power unit, Huaneng Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Unit 3, will be officially put into commercial operation. The project is equipped with China's independent third-generation "Hualong One" nuclear power technology and adopts the country's first fully independent and controllable group-level nuclear power production management system. It can deliver more than 9 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to the Hainan power grid every year. Huaneng Changjiang Nuclear Power Phase II Project plans to build two single 1.2 million kilowatt units No. 3 and No. 4. After the dual units are fully completed, the annual power generation capacity will reach 18 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the electricity demand of one-third of the population of Hainan Province.
