On August 30, the German pharmaceutical company Bayer announced that the Phase III REVEAL study of the PET radioactive tracer iodine-124 evazamide used for research will be announced as the latest breakthrough research at the 2026 European Society of Cardiology Annual Meeting (ESC 2026). This pivotal study was based on visual scan interpretation and achieved all primary endpoints in the sensitivity and specificity evaluation of cardiac amyloidosis diagnosis; the results of the Phase III study in patients with suspected cardiac amyloidosis were announced at the 2026 European Society of Cardiology Congress and simultaneously published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
